2017 Anniversary

A Year of Change

June 25, 2017Daughter of Christ

On January 1st, 2017 as I was celebrating New Year's Day with my boyfriend, we said that 2017 would be a year of change. I have definitely seen a change in my life, in the life of others around me, and in this year, only six months in. I have gotten into Children's Ministry, Junior High Ministry, and the Revive Ministry. I have ended my first job, I have gained many friends, I have lost friends, and I have graduated from community college and was accepted into a California State University to build a career as a Child Development major. I have reached six months with my significant other (and more), a ministry has ended at my church, something (that I'd rather not express until later) happened with my step dad, something else that I will not say until next month when it hopefully happens, and I started this blog.

God can make anything happen. Everything happens for a reason in this life. We must write our plans in pencil because God can change them at any time. Everything that has changed in my life has mostly been for the better by the glory of God. Even during my trials and the not so positive change, I will worship him more because he tells us to count it all joy when we go through trials. In Philippians 4:4, it states "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!" It's His will, His will be done. You do not want to plan your life like God is uninterested. Make His Word and will, your major priority. Take God very seriously, when talking about God, we should say MY God. Calvary Chapel of the High Desert is MY church. Whatever change you are praying for, as long as it's righteous and of the Lord then He will provide and He will make it happen.

Getting into the ministries that I'm in right now have been such a blessing in my life, not just teaching children about God, encouraging Junior Highers, or making a person's day at Revive with a smile and a simple yet sincere question of "How are you today?" My job ended because I had a Federal Work Study Student at my local Community College. I have gained so many friends from the college ministry at my church. I have lost friends, but I still rejoice because everything happens for a reason. I have graduated from the local community college and have been accepted to a California State University. My significant other and I have been together for 8 happy and loving months. This last Thursday, the college ministry at my church that I talked about earlier ended because most of the leaders have gone away for school or have bigger plans. There has been drama with my step dad that just shouldn't be talked about at this time. The thing that I cannot say is something that is very important for me and it may or may not happen, but if it does, it will be a life changer for me. And lastly, I finally decided to make a blog, with God's permission of course.

*Going off topic from original post*
By the time that I upload this blog post, it will be passed 12:00 the next day, June 25th, 2017. One year ago on this day, June 25th, 2016, was the first day that I met my significant other. Neither of us knew what would come from us meeting this special day. We met at a mutual friend's graduation party. I was the quiet one at the party and I sat somewhat by myself. I first ate at our friend's counter where I (yes, I'm clumsy) dropped my food on the floor, I then, of course, cleaned it off of the floor. After that, I sat at the table where there was a vase in my way of everybody seeing me. A guy who I couldn't see asked another guy to move the vase so that I could be seen and when the vase was moved, I saw the most perfect man that I have ever seen, of course, next to Jesus. Dinner was over and I was talking to our friend's sister and then he comes over and sits next to me trying to make me laugh and try to talk since I am an introvert and didn't really like talking to a lot of new people. As to "lighten the party" as he called it, he kept telling everyone that he was going to jump over the fire that was made to burn her previous assignments.  The darkness of the night came upon us and someone had a guitar so we sang worship. Our friend's sister and I started the singing and then everybody joined in and started worshipping our God. We then played a game where we say a line and have to guess what movie it was from and I knew A LOT of the answers. The night came to an end and my ride showed up at the same time that this mysterious man was leaving with his friends and he then shouts to me and says, "I hope I see you again soon." Later that night, I sent him a friend request and he accepted it the next day where we started sending snaps to each other. And this day started our happy journey, happily serving the Lord together and happily together. I know this is all sappy and whatnot, but I thank the Lord every single day for this amazing man in my life that I get to enjoy the rest of my life with. I'm so blessed by his presence and I am so happy that the Lord has placed him in my life. What a blessing anyone of us gets when He gives us something that we don't deserve and don't expect. He loves us so much that He would give His life for our sins so that we can be saved and have a relationship with him. He died for us so that we can love one another. I know that you will read this my love, thank you for always sticking by me and inroducing yourself to me on that first day that began our journey.
